How do you know you are saved?

~Tell me what you think~

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

I will be starting a mini blog series on Love. I have found in my walk with the LORD that when I close my eyes and ears to the Holy Spirit I lose sight of the basic things of my faith and I lose alot of ground. It is so easy for me to stray off the path God has set me on when I don’t love, and it is a lack of true and genuine God-fearing love for others that opens the door for sin to creep into my life and wreak havoc on my relationships and ministry.

As a disciple of the Living God, I must seek to love others in the way that the LORD has loved me. Love is the key, and everyone benefits from this love from God. Over the next little while I will be using the above passage in 1 Corinthians to write about Love, but will also glean from all over the Bible truths about Love to better enable us to have a Biblically sound understanding on godly love.

The list in 1 Corinthians 13 can be skimmed over without much thought and we may use it in weddings or write it to our sweethearts in cutesie letters because it is desirable to be loved in that way, but what about loving in each of these ways? I have not really deeply considered this passage before and now that I have considered it, I realized that there is some deep spiritual meat in this that can’t just be skimmed over. The list is also fairly daunting. Without the guidance of the Holy Spirit, this is impossible.

So here is my challenge to you and to myself. Pray every day and ask God to illuminate your weaknesses and be open and be humble. Embark with me on this journey to discover how to love God and how to love others.

My prayer is that God will allow me to use my own life to bring insight and understanding into yours (and hopefully more understanding in my own life because I don’t claim to be an expert on love…more, I’m sure I’m still an amateur!) And I also hope for interaction within this blog community. Learn from me, learn from you, all from God. Share with me what God has shown you about each posts topic on love (i.e. patience, trusting, pride, etc). I am so excited for this opportunity and I pray that God blesses this blog series. May God bless each and every one of you!

He answered: “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.”
~ Luke 10:27

You are B-E-A-UTIFUL!!!

You are BeautifulYes we are! Let us not forget this wonderful truth.

Our God is our wonderful maker and I’m sure it hurts Him when we doubt His talents. This amazing God who has crafted such crazy amazing things has knitted YOU together in your mother’s womb. Keep in mind that Eve was the crowing glory of all of God’s creative works He made those 6 days. She was the grand finale!

May you be encouraged today and be confident in how God has created you!

Grace and Peace be with you 🙂

So what’s the story about God and Jesus?

“So Kristy, tell me the story of God and being a Christian.”

God created the human race as perfect beings to begin with. Adam and Eve lived in Eden, which was a paradise. They had a blessed and complete relationship with God and lived in total peace without any worries because every need of theirs was provided for.

But one day in the garden a serpent came along and started talking to Eve. He instilled doubt in her heart and led her to believe that life would be much greater if she did as the serpent suggested, which was to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This of course, would be disobeying God’s only command. The snake led Eve to believe that she could do things on her own and it would bring her much greater happiness. (It has always been Satan’s tactic to instil in our hearts the lie “But did God really mean that?”) Continue reading
