Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

I will be starting a mini blog series on Love. I have found in my walk with the LORD that when I close my eyes and ears to the Holy Spirit I lose sight of the basic things of my faith and I lose alot of ground. It is so easy for me to stray off the path God has set me on when I don’t love, and it is a lack of true and genuine God-fearing love for others that opens the door for sin to creep into my life and wreak havoc on my relationships and ministry.

As a disciple of the Living God, I must seek to love others in the way that the LORD has loved me. Love is the key, and everyone benefits from this love from God. Over the next little while I will be using the above passage in 1 Corinthians to write about Love, but will also glean from all over the Bible truths about Love to better enable us to have a Biblically sound understanding on godly love.

The list in 1 Corinthians 13 can be skimmed over without much thought and we may use it in weddings or write it to our sweethearts in cutesie letters because it is desirable to be loved in that way, but what about loving in each of these ways? I have not really deeply considered this passage before and now that I have considered it, I realized that there is some deep spiritual meat in this that can’t just be skimmed over. The list is also fairly daunting. Without the guidance of the Holy Spirit, this is impossible.

So here is my challenge to you and to myself. Pray every day and ask God to illuminate your weaknesses and be open and be humble. Embark with me on this journey to discover how to love God and how to love others.

My prayer is that God will allow me to use my own life to bring insight and understanding into yours (and hopefully more understanding in my own life because I don’t claim to be an expert on love…more, I’m sure I’m still an amateur!) And I also hope for interaction within this blog community. Learn from me, learn from you, all from God. Share with me what God has shown you about each posts topic on love (i.e. patience, trusting, pride, etc). I am so excited for this opportunity and I pray that God blesses this blog series. May God bless each and every one of you!

He answered: “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.”
~ Luke 10:27

Just came across this blog post while browsing..Can you answer my few queries?
Which God, You talking about? Is He present in all living beings? Is He present in humans, animals and all that exists? Then why do we kill animal for our taste of tongue. Is this love? Jesus said “Do not kill.” We not only kill we slaughter animals for our selfish interest. How can the supreme father be happy when He sees his highest creation (human beings) to be so mercyless.
